Garlic, Green Beans, Green Tomatoes

Just a reminder that drop-off will be Monday from this point forward. If ever there is a problem with the timing, just let me know and I can hold your box in one of our coolers.

New this week are green beans and cucumbers, both of which are looking really nice and should keep coming for many more weeks. I’m also staring at loads of green tomatoes, so we should be into the first of the tomatoes within the next two weeks. I’ll try to keep lettuce coming, although it’s difficult in this heat. There will also be cabbage, basil and some nice big sweet onions, an heirloom variety called Ailsa Craig. These are summer eating onions, great raw in salads and recipes, and also good on the grill.

Garlic was also a big task this week, and most of it is now safely curing in the barn. I’ll start distributing the garlic in August.
